Criteria & Examples
The purpose of OMCP blog is to improve the practice of digital marketing among its readers. Articles must teach applicable digital marketing practices and guide participants in the steps of repeating the process.
Ideal practice areas aligned with, or are adjacent to, the areas covered by OMCP standards:
Practice Covered by OMCP Standard | Sub-Topics and Adjacent Topics |
---|---|
Social Media Marketing Digital Advertising and PPC Search Engine Optimization (SEO) Conversion Rate Optimization Digital Analytics Content Marketing Mobile Marketing Email Marketing Marketing Automation | Ecommerce Hiring Digital Marketers Managing marketing teams Selling digital marketing services Data mining Programmatic CRM UX/UI Reporting |
Articles should focus on applicable hands-on practices. Avoid vague sweeping statements (“think about….”) or claims of market predictions that can go stale in months. Make your recommended practice attractive, credible and applicable right away. It’s OK to focus on B2B or B2C or both.
- How we implemented DKIM and DMARC for email authentication
- Five SEO KPIs that drive action from content owners
- How I implement and use a content calendar
- Three ad testing mechanisms I require from my PPC agency

- …. any other low-dispute practice related to digital marketing
We are not setting a word count at this time, and trust our certified to avoid even subtle self promotion. The value of what you share will be your calling card.
An ideal structure for your post is:
- What I (we) did
- Challenges and results
- Steps so you can do it too, with resources to replicate this practice
Items will be evaluated by OMCP staff for approval. It’s best to send an outline before sending an article. Articles that contain duplicate content to material already online will be rejected. For each qualified article, the author will receive PDU awards as set above.
