OMCP held its quarterly Membership Standards Voting Event in June, with all current Industry and Academic membership invited to participate. Topics on the ballot were focused on certification requirements, exam requirements, PDUs, and Registered Education Provider Fees.

Of the eleven topics on the ballot, eight were passed by majority. Three went to discussion. Voting resulted in the following changes:
PDUs:
Previous Policy: All PDUs must be earned no more than 3 months prior to certification expiration to count towards certification extension.
Revised Policy: All PDUs must be earned no more than 6 months prior to certification expiration to count towards certification extension.
Post-Secondary Degree: OMCP Requirement:
Previous Policy:
Passing score on the OMCP exam and post-secondary degree
and either:
1000 hours experience and passing an approved course
or
2000 hours of experience
Revised Policy:
Passing score on the OMCP exam
and either
5000 hours experience
or
Post-secondary degree and 2000 hours experience
or
Pass an approved course and 1000 hours of experience
