Analytics activity can be broken into three pieces: Data collection, data reporting and data analysis.
In marketing teams of 6-20 people, data collection could be outsourced to the in-house IT team or an external agency. Data reporting and data analysis are typically done in-house by a dedicated web analyst who typically reports to the company’s CMO.
